Background: Transformational leadership has become established as a strategic approach to promoting innovation in public education management. Objective: To analyze transformational leadership as a pillar of innovation in Latin American public education management during the period 2022-2024. Methodology: A systematic review of a qualitative and descriptive design was conducted using content analysis applied to twenty scientific articles selected from the Scopus, SciELO, Dialnet, Redalyc, and Latindex databases, following the PRISMA guidelines. Results: The study found that 55% of the studies focused on the Peruvian context, followed by Ecuador and Mexico with 20% each. Furthermore, the dimensions of idealized influence and inspirational motivation predominated, as did the quantitative approach in basic education. Conclusion: Transformational leadership is a fundamental axis for promoting innovation, institutional commitment, and the quality of educational services in the Latin American region.
Contexto: El liderazgo transformacional se ha consolidado como un enfoque estratégico para promover la innovación en la gestión pública educativa. Objetivo: Analizar el liderazgo transformacional como pilar de la innovación en la gestión pública educativa latinoamericana durante el periodo 2022-2024. Metodología: Revisión sistemática de tipo cualitativo y diseño descriptivo, mediante la técnica de análisis de contenido aplicada a veinte artículos científicos seleccionados en las bases de datos Scopus, SciELO, Dialnet, Redalyc y Latindex bajo la directriz PRISMA. Resultados: Se evidenció que el 55 % de los estudios se concentraron en el contexto peruano, seguido de Ecuador y México con 20 % respectivamente; Además, predominan las dimensiones de influencia idealizada y motivación inspiradora, y el enfoque cuantitativo en educación básica. Conclusión: El liderazgo transformacional constituye un eje fundamental para impulsar la innovación, el compromiso institucional y la calidad del servicio educativo en la región latinoamericana.
