Leadership styles play an essential role in the university academic environment. These approaches encompass the many ways that faculty, students, and administrative staff interact. The main objective of the research was to present a scientific evidence base around the various styles of leadership in the field of university education. The methodology adopted for this study consisted in carrying out an exploratory PRISMA systematic review, which involved the meticulous analysis of scientific articles obtained from the Myloft platform of database journals such as Scopus and Scielo. The results derived from this process revealed that Higher Education Institutions must take into consideration key factors, such as transformational leadership, leadership oriented towards gender diversity, as well as leadership that promotes an inclusive environment

Los estilos de liderazgo desempeñan un rol esencial en el entorno académico universitario. Estos enfoques abarcan las diversas maneras que interactúan el cuerpo docente, los estudiantes y el personal administrativo. El objetivo principal de la investigación fue presentar una base de pruebas científicas en torno a los variados estilos de liderazgo en el ámbito de la educación universitaria. La metodología adoptada para este estudio consistió en la realización de una revisión sistemática exploratoria PRISMA, que involucró el análisis minucioso de artículos científicos obtenidos de la plataforma Myloft de revistas de bases de datos como Scopus y Scielo. Los resultados derivados de este proceso revelaron que las Instituciones de Educación Superior deben tomar en consideración factores clave, como el liderazgo transformacional, el liderazgo orientado a la diversidad de género, así como el liderazgo que promueve un ambiente inclusivo.
