Aims and Scope

Horizontes Revista de Investigación en Ciencias de la Educación is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed scientific journal with a diamond open access model, focused on Latin America.

Its purpose is to disseminate original research results that contribute to the development of knowledge in the field of education.

The journal accepts quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods research in the following areas:

  • Educational Sciences: pedagogy, didactics, curriculum, evaluation, and early, basic, and higher education.
  • Educational Psychology and Human Development.
  • Educational Innovation: applied technology and virtual learning.
  • Policy and Management: Educational Management and Public Policy.
  • Teacher Training and Pedagogical Practices.
  • Intercultural and Inclusive Education.
  • Methodology: Educational Research and Applied Methodologies.
  • Quality Assurance: Measurement and Educational Quality.

Horizontes Revista de Investigación en Ciencias de la Educación constitutes a space for academic dialogue and critical reflection aimed at enhancing educational processes, open to diverse theoretical and methodological perspectives. National and international scientific contributions are welcome.

Horizontes Revista de Investigación en Ciencias de la Educación publishes original articles derived from empirical research, field or laboratory studies, document analyses, narrative, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and methodological proposals in both Spanish and English.

The journal follows a continuous publication model, allowing the immediate dissemination of articles once editorial processes are concluded, organizing its contents into four annual issues.

Horizontes Revista de Investigación en Ciencias de la Educación, edited by the Centro de Estudios Transdisciplinarios, adheres to international research and publishing ethics principles, following the COPE guidelines (Committee on Publication Ethics, 2024) and the NISO CRediT taxonomy (Contributor Roles Taxonomy, 2024). Through these frameworks, the journal promotes transparency, academic integrity, and proper recognition of author contributions, under an editorial team that declares its complete neutrality in relation to any type of bias.

Preservation of Digital Files

Horizontes Revista de Investigación en Ciencias de la Educación ensures the digital preservation of its content through its editorial platform OJS and the institutional support of CET Bolivia. In addition to this, its part of the PKP Preservation Network (PKP-PN). Published articles remain permanently available on the journal's official website, allowing their retrieval through academic search engines and international repository networks.

As a preventive measure against possible technical failures or service interruptions, the publisher maintains backup copies of all published documents, ensuring their preservation, integrity, and long-term access.

Access and Publication Charges

In line with its diamond open access policy, Horizontes Revista de Investigación en Ciencias de la Educación guarantees free and immediate access to all its articles, promoting the circulation of knowledge without financial barriers for readers.

Furthermore, The journal does not charge authors any fees for submitting, evaluating, editing, or publishing their manuscripts (no APCs).

The journal is edited by the Centro de Estudios Transdisciplinarios Bolivia, an academic publisher dedicated to promoting research and scientific dissemination in Latin America.

The publication receives institutional and financial support from the Centro de Estudios Transdisciplinarios Bolivia Editorial, enabling it to maintain its non-profit open-access model and ensure the continuity of its editorial processes.
