Metodología: investigación cuantitativa, correlacional, no experimental y transversal.
Background: Emotional intelligence and school climate are fundamental dimensions of adolescents' socio-emotional development, influencing coexistence, well-being, and academic performance. Objective: To determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and school climate among secondary school students at a private educational institution in Villa El Salvador, Lima, during 2024. Methodology: This was a quantitative, correlational, non-experimental, and cross-sectional study. The sample consisted of 142 secondary school students. The Trait Meta-Mood Scale (TMMS-24) and the Moos School Social Climate Scale (CES), both validated in Peruvian populations, were administered. The analysis was performed using Spearman's Rho non-parametric test. Results: No significant relationship was found between emotional intelligence and school climate (p = .583), nor between the dimensions of attention (p = .392), clarity (p = .223), and emotional repair (p = .223) and school climate. Conclusion: the variables were independent, indicating that the perception of the school climate could be linked to factors other than emotional intelligence in the studied population.
