Las competencias digitales permiten a los estudiantes acceder y evaluar información de manera crítica, comunicarse y colaborar en entornos virtuales, utilizar herramientas tecnológicas para el aprendizaje y resolver problemas de forma creativa. De esta forma, el objetivo del artículo fue identificar los efectos y beneficios de la integración de las competencias digitales en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje en la educación superior a través de la revisión sistemática de literatura de los últimos 5 años, tomando en cuenta los trabajos publicados en las bases de datos Scopus, Dialnet, Google Scholar y Ebsco. Se concluye en que las competencias digitales son cruciales para el éxito académico y profesional de los estudiantes en la educación superior. La integración efectiva de estas competencias en el currículo promueve un aprendizaje más relevante y enriquecedor, preparando a los estudiantes para enfrentar los desafíos de la sociedad digital.

Digital competencies allow students to access and evaluate information critically, communicate and collaborate in virtual environments, use technological tools for learning and solve problems creatively. Thus, the objective of the article was to identify the effects and benefits of the integration of digital competencies in the teaching and learning process in higher education through a systematic literature review of the last 5 years, taking into account the works published in the databases Scopus, Dialnet, Google Scholar and Ebsco. It is concluded that digital competencies are crucial for the academic and professional success of students in higher education. The effective integration of these competencies in the curriculum promotes more relevant and enriching learning, preparing students to face the challenges of the digital society.
